Fasting glucose tests measure blood sugar levels after not eating
for at least 8 hours, while non-fasting glucose tests can be done at
any time after eating. Normal fasting glucose levels are below 100
mg/dL, and normal non-fasting levels are below 140 mg/dL; higher
levels may indicate prediabetes or diabetes.
Conventional fasting range is 65-99 mg/dl. The optimal range is
80-100 mg/dl. Alarm range is
250 mg/dl. Non-fasting
normal range 65-125 mg/dl and the optimal range is 80-125 mg/dl.
