Vitamin B2
As a vital coenzyme in metabolic pathways, Vitamin B2 plays a
key role in cellular energy production, red blood cell formation,
and overall growth and repair.
Most people are more likely to have low levels than high ones.
Riboflavin is a water-soluble vitamin, so if you take too much, your
body usually gets rid of the extra through urine. This is why there’s a
very low risk of toxicity, even with high-dose supplements.
When Riboflavin levels are too low (a condition called
ariboflavinosis), it can cause symptoms like tiredness, weakness,
and anemia, since it's important for making energy and red blood
cells.
Other signs of deficiency may include sore throat or mouth,
irritated skin around the nose and eyes, and in serious cases,
problems with growth or reproduction.
