Lymphocyte & T‐cell subsets, ESR, hs‐CRP in autoimmune contexts.
Lymphocytes are white blood cells that play a vital role in the
immune system. They consist of T cells and B cells. Within the T cell
category, there are different subsets, such as helper T cells and
cytotoxic T cells, each with specific functions in combating
infections and regulating immune responses.
ESR and hs-CRP are used to detect inflammation in autoimmune
diseases. hs-CRP is generally a better marker for acute
inflammation, while ESR can be useful in certain diseases, such as
systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.
