and then comparing the color change to the provided chart. For
urine testing, dip the strip into a urine sample and compare the

● Weatherby & Ferguson: zinc taste test mention
The zinc taste test is used to determine if someone has a zinc
deficiency. Zinc is essential for immune function, growth, blood
sugar regulation, and healing.
To take the test, make sure you have not eaten for at least one
hour beforehand. A solution consisting of 0.1% zinc sulfate is used
for the test. Participants should hold the solution in their mouths for
about 10 seconds, then describe their taste response to assess
their zinc status. If there is no taste experienced during or after the
test, it is indicative of severe zinc deficiency.

Iodine Patch Test
An iodine patch test is a simple method in which a small amount
of iodine (usually a tincture like a 2% or 5% solution) is applied
directly onto the skin, typically in a square or circular shape, to
observe how quickly it fades. This test is often used informally as a
rough indicator of iodine status in the body.
Here's how it is thought to work:
1. Paint an iodine patch on your skin, such as your forearm, thigh,
or abdomen.
