Her thyroid antibodies were also performed in negative. She was
revealed as insulin resistant as her fasting insulin.
We did some lifestyle and supplementation. She stopped fast food
and Diet Coke and focused on cooking at home3drinking 60 to 80
ounces of filtered water daily.
Her meal recommendation was a gluten-free Mediterranean diet
with whole foods and fruits and vegetables.
She didn't drink much coffee, so they switched to decaffeinated
coffee. She had some headaches while detoxing the first couple
of weeks but kept drinking water. We focused on quality sleep.
She was falling asleep late while on her phone scrolling through
social media and shopping, so she was encouraged to put away
her phone and not keep it on her bedside table.
The plan was to get 7 to 9 hours of sleep between 10 and 11 PM.
She was waking up sometimes in the middle of the night at 3 AM
and having trouble falling back to sleep.
One suggestion was calming herbal tea after dinner and a
teaspoon of almond butter before bed.
Lastly, we target supplements for her body function and support
her thyroid. We started a simple regiment of Designs for Health
Supplements, thyroid synergy, and digestive enzymes.
Our goal was to help her feel better about her body. After three
months of following recommendations to the best of her ability,
we did follow-up bloodwork, and her TSH dropped to 2.6, which is
better than the initial 4.38. She lost 13 pounds and felt better in her
clothes. She is continuing on the gluten-free Mediterranean diet
and supplements. She is thrilled with her results.
