Complementary Testing Approach
Arrays 3X and 4 provide different but complementary information:
● Array 3X establishes whether a patient has immune reactivity
to wheat/gluten proteins and offers insight into potential
mechanisms and manifestations of this reactivity.
● Array 4 identifies whether cross-reactive foods or gluten
substitutes are perpetuating immune activation and
symptoms even after gluten elimination.
Testing both arrays provides the most comprehensive assessment
of gluten-related immune reactivity and guides more precise
interventions [35].
Clinical Decision-Making Process
The results from Arrays 3X and 4 inform a sequential clinical
approach:
Determine Gluten Reactivity (Array 3X)
If positive, recommend strict gluten elimination Pattern of markers
guides expectations regarding symptom presentation and
recovery timeline
Assess Cross-Reactivity (Array 4)
Identify and eliminate cross-reactive foods that may continue
triggering immune responses Evaluate and potentially modify
gluten-free substitute foods that are triggering new sensitivities
Personalize Recovery Protocol
Target specific mechanisms based on antibody patterns (e.g., gut
repair for WGA antibodies, neurological support for gluteomorphin
antibodies) Implement precise dietary modifications rather than
unnecessarily restrictive approaches
