Comprehensive Guide to Cyrex Array 5: Multiple
Autoimmune Reactivity Screen
Introduction: Autoimmunity Begins Before Symptoms Appear
Autoimmune diseases develop through a complex process that
often begins years before clinical symptoms manifest. Research
has demonstrated that predictive autoantibodies4immune
proteins that mistakenly target the body's own tissues4can
appear in the bloodstream 5-10 years before enough tissue
damage occurs to produce diagnosable disease [1]. This "silent"
autoimmune phase represents a critical window for intervention,
when the process may still be reversible before irreversible tissue
destruction occurs [2].
Traditional diagnostic approaches typically only identify
autoimmune disease once substantial tissue damage has already
occurred. By this point, treatment options are often limited to
managing symptoms and slowing progression rather than
reversing the underlying immune dysfunction [3]. This diagnostic
gap has led to the development of more comprehensive
predictive testing approaches, represented by Cyrex Array 5.
