Understanding Array 5 Results
The interpretation of Array 5 results requires consideration of:
Antibody Patterns
The specific pattern of positive markers provides important
information about which tissues are being targeted and which
autoimmune conditions may be developing [49]. For example:
● Thyroid + pancreatic antibodies suggest increased risk for
autoimmune polyglandular syndrome
● Neural + thyroid antibodies are common in patients at risk for
both multiple sclerosis and Hashimoto's
● Multiple joint and connective tissue antibodies suggest
systemic autoimmunity like lupus or mixed connective tissue
disease
Antibody Levels
The degree of elevation provides information about the stage and
potential aggressiveness of the autoimmune process [50]:
● Borderline or low-positive results often represent very
early-stage reactivity with high potential for reversal
● Moderate positives suggest established but potentially still
reversible processes
● Strong positives may indicate more advanced autoimmunity
that will require more aggressive intervention
Multiple vs. Single Tissue Reactivity
Reactivity to multiple tissue types generally indicates more
systemic immune dysregulation and often requires more
comprehensive intervention than single-tissue reactivity [51].
