● Specimens must be properly centrifuged within 2 hours of
collection.
● Serum must be transferred to the provided transport tubes.
● Specimens should be shipped on the same day as collection
when possible.
● Ambient temperature shipping is acceptable if delivered
within 48 hours; otherwise, cold packs should be used [25].
Visual Interpretation Guide
Cyrex Array 12 reports are presented in a format that allows
practitioners to quickly identify patterns of reactivity. The report
typically includes:
● Summary Page: Lists all pathogens tested and indicates
results as negative, equivocal, or positive.
● Detailed Results: Shows numerical values and reference
ranges for each pathogen.
● Pathogen Category Groupings: Organizes results by
pathogen type (oral, GI, viral, etc.).
When interpreting results visually, consider the following patterns
[26]:
● Clustered Positives: Multiple positive results within a single
category (e.g., several oral pathogens) may indicate a
significant issue in that system.
● Cross-System Positives: Positive results across different
pathogen categories may suggest more widespread
immune dysregulation or multiple entry points for triggers.
● Isolated Positives: Single positive results without a pattern
may represent past exposure with minimal current clinical
significance.
