Suggests targeted reactions to specific triggers while overall
mucosal function remains intact
Who Should Consider Array 14
Array 14 testing is particularly valuable for several patient
populations:
Digestive Symptoms Without Clear Diagnosis
Patients with persistent gastrointestinal symptoms (bloating, gas,
irregular bowel habits, abdominal discomfort) that have not been
adequately explained through conventional testing often have
underlying mucosal immune dysfunction [16]. For these individuals,
Array 14 can identify specific triggers activating the mucosal
immune system and guide more targeted interventions.
Chronic Respiratory Issues
Individuals with recurrent sinusitis, chronic rhinitis, persistent cough,
or asthma may have dysfunctional mucosal immunity in the
respiratory tract [17]. Since the mucosal immune system operates
as an integrated network across different sites, oral sIgA testing
can provide insights relevant to respiratory mucosal health as well.
Autoimmune Risk Assessment
Patients with early signs of immune dysregulation or family history
of autoimmune disease benefit from mucosal immune assessment
before systemic autoimmunity develops [18]. Research
increasingly suggests that loss of mucosal tolerance is a critical
early step in autoimmune development [19].
Food Sensitivities and Intolerances
Individuals with multiple food sensitivities or who react to foods
despite negative conventional allergy testing often have
underlying mucosal immune reactions [20]. Array 14 can identify
which specific food proteins are triggering sIgA responses at the
mucosal level.
