Case 2: Early Cognitive Decline with Autonomic Symptoms
A 62-year-old with early cognitive changes, fatigue, and
orthostatic symptoms showed elevated IgA and IgG antibodies to
multiple BBB proteins on Array 20, along with intestinal permeability
on Array 2 and dysbiosis on comprehensive stool analysis.
The pattern of IgA antibody elevation suggested a mucosal-driven
mechanism of BBB disruption, likely originating from gut
inflammation. Treatment focused on comprehensive gut
restoration, targeted probiotics, and specific BBB support including
compounds to enhance tight junction integrity.
Within six months, cognitive function showed objective
improvement on neuropsychological testing, autonomic
symptoms resolved, and repeat Array 20 showed normalization of
IgA antibodies with significant reduction in IgG levels [155, 156].
Case 3: Post-Infectious Neuroinflammation
A 45-year-old with new-onset brain fog, fatigue, and mood
changes following a viral infection showed high IgM antibodies to
BBB proteins on Array 20, suggesting acute barrier disruption.
Further testing revealed elevated inflammatory markers and
oxidative stress indicators.
A protocol targeting viral persistence, inflammation reduction,
and barrier repair resulted in substantial improvement in cognitive
function and energy within 4 months. Key interventions included
antiviral botanicals, specialized pro-resolving mediators, and
targeted support for BBB integrity.
Follow-up testing demonstrated resolution of IgM antibodies to BBB
proteins and normalization of inflammatory markers, confirming
successful restoration of barrier function [157, 158].
