Mitochondrial Function Assessment
Higher HbA1c values indicate potential mitochondrial dysfunction,

Monitoring Protocol and Interpretation
For comprehensive metabolic assessment, HbA1c should be
measured:
● At baseline for all patients
● Every 3 months when actively treating insulin resistance or
diabetes

● Annually for maintenance monitoring
HbA1c should always be interpreted alongside fasting insulin,
